While we are all aware that there is an epidemic of Type 2 diabetes
in this country, we don’t always know how best to combat it.
Research scientist Dr. Joseph Evans was a guest recently on “The
Wellness Hour,” a weekly natural health and nutrition radio show I
co-host. He has over 25 years of experience and development in
natural products and pharmaceutical interventions for insulin
resistance, type 2 diabetes and obesity. Dr. Evans has published
over 40 scientific papers on this subject and he...Read More »

My
mother always complained about not having “good hair,” you know, a
luxurious mane of shinny hair tumbling over her shoulders. No, she
and I and my three sisters all had baby-fine, limp hair that needed
a lot of fussing, augmentation, and product to make it look merely
okay, let alone gorgeous! When she began to lose
her hair as she aged, my mother was mortified and resorted to

Recently it occurred to me to explore ways to promote weight loss

seasons: January, right after the holidays; mid-spring,
as bikini season approaches; and after school starts in the fall,
following all of the “eating events” of...Read More »

Does the Food Industry Drive You to Overeat?
Thursday, May 20, 2010

As a veteran dieter and one who provided professional weight loss
help for women, I have long come to view the commercial food
industry as an evil giant that manipulates and mesmerizes us into
endless eating. Give into it, and it’s an ongoing, eternal
binge—until the consequences become too debilitating. The
ubiquitous advertising that persuades us to eat at every turn, the
ingenious razzle-dazzle packaging that entices us to constantly
indulge, and the legions of food chemists that inflame our...Read More »
