Daily Health Tips update for November 12:
According to the
U.S.
National Library of Medicine, “Osteoporosis is the thinning of
bone tissue and loss of bone density over time. Osteoporosis is the
most common type of bone disease. Researchers estimate that about 1
out of 5 American women over the age of 50 have osteoporosis. About
half of all women over the age of 50 will have a fracture of the
hip, wrist, or vertebra (bones of the spine).”

You’re likely familiar with the most popular causes...

You may as well call the number of high blood pressure cases in the
United States an epidemic. I mean, when one out of three adults in
this country has high blood pressure, the numbers are
staggering.
High blood pressure is serious business. It can lead to coronary
heart disease, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure and other
health problems.
One of the problems with high blood pressure is that you can have
it for years without knowing it, since there are no
symptoms.
The National Heart Lung...

wondered what happens if your body runs low on vitamin D? First
time author James E. Dowd who penned The Vitamin D Cure
has.
Dowd, a rheumatologist and CEO at his Arthritis Institute of
Michigan, wanted to “look at our health through the lens of vitamin
D deficiency.”
The book has three sections. Part one attempts to establish how
vitamin D (not really a vitamin but a hormone our bodies synthesize
from the sun’s UVB rays) regulates essential body functions,
particularly through its...

I take a multi for the usual reasons -- not always the best diet
plus an aging digestive system and body. I love the softgel form
(though my spell checker doesn't approve of that word), and Swanson
(spell checker again) really is the best online supplement company
that I know of -- I'd say it rocks if I were younger, so hey,
Swanson is bitchin'. About the mulit: good -- I appreciate that it
does not contain a retinyl palmitate form of vitamin A; not so good
-- I'd definitely want vitamin E to be...

Iron-deficiency anemia is a fairly common condition that occurs
when you don’t have enough iron in your body. Women of childbearing
age are at a higher risk for iron-deficiency anemia because of
blood loss during their monthly periods. Pregnant women are also at
higher risk because they need twice as much iron as usual.
According to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute:
"Iron-deficiency anemia usually develops over time if your body
doesn’t have enough iron to build healthy red blood...

We have resolved to get healthy. I stumbled across Swanson's one
night while looking for a vitamin and herb supplier on the
Internet. I called the 800 number and a LIVE person answered the
phone. Once I was past the shock I posed a question I already knew
the answer to. I could hear him typing as he began to answer. The
gentleman did a phenominal job explaining the uses and benefits and
ensuring I understood. He then suggested a product, told me the
pricing and the Swanson gaurantee.
We signed up...

Recently was laid off after 26 years for a supermarket chain. I was
working 50 -60 hours a week and had a very stressful job. My health
was not in good condition, overweight and not feeling good. I
decided this is the year for a change. I just finished getting my
massage licence and have one more year in a Holistic Health
Practitioner program. I have lost about 10 pounds just eating
properly and exercising and feeling better. My next challenge is
getting my clientele to do the same. I talk about...

1. Similarly to the 2010 year, for the 2011 as well I have decided
for continuing my program to keep myself both physically and as
well mentally in good condition and to the contrary my pension age
to further improve my physical and mental activity rather than to
have it stagnating.
2. In my understanding the development of the physical and other
skills plays a primary role in self-motivation, i.e. in my hobby
sports, the table tennis, I set against or expect from myself the
same level of...
